- As part of the timing chain replacement/valve timing adjustment, the timing chain must be pre-loaded to a specific torque setting before tightening the Vanos centre bolts. Remove the timing chain tensioner and install C4803 Timing Chain Tensioner Pre-load Tool in its place.
